Blake Wetzel is vice president of sales for the CenturyLink Channel Alliance. He is responsible for leading an industry-leading sales channel comprised of more than 200 partners who have thousands of agents and sub-agents offering CenturyLink’s communications solutions to business customers across the country.
Prior to his current role, Wetzel served as director of national customer care, business sales support and chief financial officer for the business sales organization at Qwest as well as various financial management positions at MCI Communications.
Richard G. Twilley
Richard Twilley is vice president of business sales, and is responsible for leading the enterprise sales organization for the Eastern Region of the United States. Consisting of 25 states and approximately 500 employees, his organization provides the complete business portfolio of communications products and services to the enterprise business marketplace.
With more than 24 years of experience in the telecommunications and consulting industries, Twilley has held various positions at Sprint/Embarq, and the Michaels Group as a business consultant.
Frank Grillo is vice president of business marketing, responsible for leading the business product and marketing organizations at CenturyLink Business. Frank and his organization manage the development and implementation of industry-leading products and world-class communications solutions for small-, medium- and large-sized enterprises across the globe.
With more than 20 years experience in various executive marketing and product roles in the communications industry, Grillo also worked at Cypress Communications, LDDS, MCI Worldcom and Z-Tel.
Betty Reynolds is vice president of business sales for the Southwest Region, and is responsible for leading market development, sales, sales engineering and support for CenturyLink Business clients. Her organization paves the way in linking businesses to next-generation technology that enables growth and efficiencies for organizations in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, California and Utah.
With more than 35 years in the telecommunications and broadband industries, Reynolds has held various leadership roles in sales, product and customer care departments.
Rob Roache leads the sales, engineering and sales support teams focused on serving global, enterprise, government and education customers across the Northwest. His teams are focused on solving the business challenges of customers using an extensive portfolio of network, hosting and managed services solutions.
With 25 years in the telecommunications and IT Services industry, Roache has held leadership positions in sales, engineering and operations departments. He has been with CenturyLink since 1991. Most recently, Roache was AVP of Sales, and supported customers located in the company’s Southern region.
Gary runs the technical solution engineering teams for CenturyLink’s Eastern United States Business Solutions Group, supporting Global Cloud, MPLS, SIP, Disaster Recovery and Managed Services for Fortune 1000, government and education clients. Gary has 9 years of tenure with CenturyLink in sales engineering and operational roles
With more than 17 years experience in the technology and managed services industry, Sloper held various management positions at CenturyLink, Exodus Communications and ColoSpace.
Chris Janson is currently Director, Industry Marketing-Education and Public Sector at Ciena. He tracks industry trends and helps customers develop network solutions based on Ciena’s packet optical technologies.
Chris is also an adjunct lecturer at Northeastern University in Boston. He holds an MBA from Boston University and Bachelor of Science from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Ian is currently responsible for business channel and field marketing support for CenturyLink’s Enterprise, Government and Commercial segments. Prior to this, Ian was Senior Vice President-Marketing for Trilogy Software. Ian has extensive executive leadership experience in product management and marketing, channel and brand marketing in the software development and communications industries.
His other roles include Chief Marketing Officer for Virtela Communications, CMO for Broadwing Communications, and Senior Vice President-Marketing at Qwest.
As Senior Vice President at CenturyLink, David Meredith’s responsibilities include the oversight of 57+ data centers and related services across North America, Europe and Asia, which help thousands of customers grow their businesses through the innovative use of technology infrastructure.
An award-winning senior executive and international entrepreneur, Meredith previously served in Board Director, CEO, President and management roles for international businesses ranging from venture-backed firms like NeuPals in China to business units of public companies such as VeriSign, Capital One, and CGI.
With more than 20 years of technology and operations experience, Joel Stone is responsible for CenturyLink’s Global Data Center Operations. He currently focuses on operational excellence, uptime, energy efficiency, capacity management, and data center security for more than 57 company data centers.
Most recently, Stone was the Group Operations Director for Global Switch, a privately held company headquartered in London with operations in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, Singapore and Australia. He was responsible for global operations, standardization, energy management, health and safety, program management, portal development and information technology.
David Shacochis is Vice President of Cloud Platform at CenturyLink, focused on the automation benefits of a global IT platform and how it enables innovation for our customer base. With nearly 15 years of tech industry experience, he’s built a well-rounded career as a leader in several IT service provider organizations, including global operations, customer service, software integration, strategic marketing, engineering and product management.
Girish Varma is President of Global Information Technology Services and New Market Development, where he is responsible for leading CenturyLink’s new products and solutions in the areas of IT strategy and technology consulting, application services, cloud systems integration, IT security services and new market development.
Drew Leonard has over 18 years in the Telecom and Data Center industry. As Vice President of Colocation Product Management for CenturyLink, Drew is responsible for enhancing colocation services, growing the business through new client and market opportunities, and ensuring that customers receive the most current and cost effective solutions. Prior to joining CenturyLink, Drew was Director of Product Marketing at Switch and Data Facilities, and Director of Marketing at PAIX. As a seasoned product and marketing executive for these data center and internet exchange providers, Drew’s primary focus was developing detailed strategic marketing plans leveraging market and revenue opportunity through market sizing. Drew has continued to specialize in market sizing, market share analysis, strategic planning, market-based pricing, product development, channel marketing, and sales development. Drew has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California.
Shirish Lal is CenturyLink’s Chief Marketing Officer. Shirish joined the company in 2005 and has been instrumental in helping to redefine the company from a traditional telecom provider with $2.5 billion dollars in revenue to a global IT leader with revenues over $18 billion dollars. He is responsible for delivering innovative solutions across the consumer and business segments, ensuring the company is well positioned in the industry. Shirish earned his bachelor’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his MBA from Harvard University.
