Government and Technology: Rise of the Apps

There’s no question that government agencies are making big strides when it comes to technology. And now we’re seeing an even greater concentration on mobile app development to better serve mobile constituents, similar to the way businesses are using them to stay in front of customers.

According to a recent study by analyst ForeSee, one in three citizens who accessed a federal government website did so on a smartphone or tablet, and nearly half said that they might or plan to access a government website from their mobile device in the future.

Interop 2012 and the Future of Network Technology

Interop 2012 in Las Vegas, with a focus on trends and technologies that will change the future of networks and the applications that run on them, was easily one of the most interesting in recent memory.

As was predicted in Mindy Powers’ pre-Interop blog, there was much focus on key emerging technologies such as cloud computing; mobile applications and devices, including the “Bring Your Own Device: trend;  and the need to understand and secure these technologies.
